The Art of The Nude

The Blue Nude

The artist atelier is not only workshop, it is sacred space.

Painting in Blue

Here we see a painting in blue that I did with a model.  During that time, I was doing many monochromatic works.  However, because this particular painting is blue, it has often been referenced with being influenced by Picasso.  I have done many  paintings like this in many different monochromatic colors.  In any case, Picasso was the genius of Paris.  No one can dispute that!  What artist could live in Paris and not be influenced by Picasso's greatness?  I am not alone in being influenced by him.

Notice that my atelier is not just where I work, it is also a place of deep reflection.  Each work of art I create has its own "energy".  Here for example is a nook in my studio filled with flowers on the marble mantle as a sacred space to honor the work that has come before.  Some days creating a work of art is very challenging, mentally, physically, and emotionally!  So this painting serves as inspiration in my studio as a reminder to believe in myself when the going gets "tough"!  Next let's see a series of nudes I've done in the style of French Expressionism. Picasso is not the only art from Paris who has had a great influence on me... There's another artist from whose success with  commercial art has greatly influenced how I share my own art with the world!
