Paris as Inspiration for a Lifetime!

Having lived as an American in Paris is at the heart of my work. Paris never ceases to be a source of inspiration... That's why I have a postcard rack filled with French Postcards to keep me inspired!  We will use the postcard rack as a segway to works of art throughout this exhibition.

The Paris-inspired painting shown in the photo comes from the style of French artists called the "Nabis" (The Profits). The profits were a group of mostly French plein-air artists who abandoned realism and instead used nature to express their feelings and a love of nature represented in bold and vibrant unconventional colors.  Paul Gauguin was the leader of the group.

I love to create art to celebrate the spirit of Paris that has made the city such a loved global metropolis and the art capital of the world.  These iconic images of Paris have made the city the place to be for artists and tourists around the globe! Now let's look closely at the postcard rack in my studio and enjoy some iconic vintage postcards of Parisienne life.
