I painted this still life of the objects on a table in my living room. In terms of the nude, this work shows a homo erotic scene that includes the famous statue of two naked heroes (Hercules and Diometes) from ancient Greek mythology.  The sculpture shows these heroes in an intense wrestling match.  Notice, however, that I am also paying homage to Matisse in this oil on canvas.  In sharp contrast to the  heroes fighting on my table, my oil painting of the art book at the center shows the Matisse figures dancing on my table.  So this work of art includes a composition with both a fight and a dance on my round table along with all the other objects.  The composition on the round table has a dynamic cyclical motion as a metaphor for life...
