Portraits a' la Parisiennes

La Geisha Francaise
In The American in Paris Gallery
Here I was still thinking of a Parisian ballet dancer, except that I painted this dancer as a Geisha. The colors are bold. This painting is as much about the "paint" and being bold with color as it is about the ballet dancer. One of the greatest things for me about being an artist is the "creative process". It has a mind of it's own. That process often continues even after I thought the painting was done. This painting for example, has been modified and now has taken some new creative brush strokes... It is not practical to photograph every new brushstroke... Sometimes, I touch up paintings after photographing them as they are being displayed on the walls of the American in Paris Gallery. This online exhibition is still "under construction" and like any creative project, so I can do that. Besides, this art exhibition is also a work-in-progress. The final photos of art works will be uploaded once this exhibit is complete.
