One of the things I love about this monochromatic work in blue is that it is both a painting and a drawing. In color theory, blue represents honesty and truth. Nothing is more true than the power of love. Honestly, if love were a color, I think it would be blue. To me, the love in this painting comes not from the color blue, but from her eyelashes and the expression of her face. This work of art was created with bold lines in pure French Ultramarine blue.  To me, this painting represents genuine love depicted in the color blue, hence the name "True Blue".
