"Child's Masterpiece"

Every child is a natural artist... And the reason that is, is because they haven't had anyone tell them they can't be. They just draw and paint with joy and let their imagination and creativity run wild. Unlike adults, children haven't lived their life in this world with everyone constantly criticizing and saying things like you can't do that, "grow up!" Even when you are a committed artist like I am, I still get criticized. Most artists are "sensitive" people, but we also have to learn to grow thick skin to protect ourselves from haters... This next painting came out in the style of the Nabis, a group of French artists who were called "The Profits" and painted outdoors in the pleinair style. Since I have been called a "cartoon artist" I decided to embrace the title by painting the frame in a cartoon style. Be yourself!
