I know I've already shown an example of an Octopus dish prepared for me in Rome in the traditional Roman Style dating back to the ancient Romans. Seafood is prevalent in all areas of Italy, not just Rome and Venice. For example, this particular seafood plate of octopus salad was actually had at a quick stop to dine in Bologna, along my way from Venice to Tuscany as my travels took me.  This seafood dish was so delicious I ended up ordering it twice...  The chef was so honored that he came out to personally meet me and ended up treating me to a typical after-dinner drink (limoncello) to cleanse my palate.  Everywhere I go, I find Italians so friendly and hospitable.  The Italian people know how to live!
