Nothing says "Italy" like homemade pasta!!!  

 

Back in New England I bought a pasta machine so I could make my own pasta at home.  Here you can see that the first batch was a little thick but the texture and taste of the eggs was already miles better than the store-bought pastas.  Once you you go "homemade" it's hard to enjoy regular packaged pasta from the store (though the ones that are imported from Italy can also be quite good!).  I now make all my pastas by hand, but if you are just starting out, a pasta machine is great for beginners.
