Sushi & Maki

Maki rolls are made by slicing sushi with vinegared rice into rolled up into bite-size pieces inside a sheet of thin paper-like seaweed called nori.  In terms of following the rules of appealing to all of our senses, Japanese cuisine always excels at hitting all those points that l mentioned earlier.  Perhaps that's why Japanese cuisine is one of my all-time favorite forms of culinary art.  This maki roll presentation includes sushi and maki with cucumber spears. This is a great dish for beginning culinary artists like me first learning to make and present sushi dishes.  I had a couple of cucumber spears so I just placed them in between the sushi for contrasts to the fresh Atlantic salmon.
