The Art of Cuisine

Seafood "Roman Style"

I love seafood!  So as we begin our tour of culinary art from the heart of the Rome, I'd like to share this classical Roman seafood dish.   I am always fascinated how each Italian region creates its own forms of that culinary art.  This seafood dish is an example of traditional Roman Cuisine that dates back to ancient Rome.

As a lover of ancient history and cuisine, I especially enjoyed this seafood dish while dining in the heart of Rome.  Prior to being cooked, the octopus was first marinated and was perfectly soft and tender to the bite.  It was served to me on a bed of vegetables, greens with a delicious salad dressing, and topped with fresh lemon and large olives that are native to Italy.
