The Italian Stallion

While I was in Tuscany I saw an exhibit by Leonardo Da Vinci that deeply moved me.  Something about Da Vinci and the Italian renaissance stayed with me in my art studio even when I returned to New England.  Here we see my Tuscan artisan bread displayed next to another painting of an Etruscan stallion. Clearly my painting was inspired by Da Vinci.  Titled "The Italian Stallion" my oil painting was also influenced by Italian Renaissance in general.  So my table display pays homage to the Renaissance by serving a traditional Tuscan meal as "culinary art" in the American in Paris Gallery. This Tuscan meal also includes green Italian olives from Tuscany, cheese, butter, and aioli (a homemade extra virgin olive oil mayonnaise with fresh garlic) and a bottle of robust Tuscan wine.  Half of my family is of Italian descent.  I haven't mentioned this yet, but this is my nod to the ancestry from my Italian side of the family, some even have roots to Italian nobility.  That is one reason why we spent a month traveling in Italy.
