At My Best & My Worst!
Classic Pepperoni Pizza
As the title implies, this photo shows me both at my best and my worst. Learning how to make artisan pizza with a perfect crust was not easy at first. It actually took me a few months to finally master! So this was me at my best in terms of success but at my worst in terms of appearance. So this photo represents my finally achieving my best pizza (with a fantastic perfect crust) but also looking totally at my worst in terms of my appearance...
Like many men during the pandemic, I had not been able to get to a barber and get a haircut, and I did not have to shave as frequently because I was not seeing people. So many of us just embraced "letting ourselves go" as shown in this late night photo. So, in addition to learning how to make the perfect pizza during a pandemic, I also had to learn to accept looking "scruffy" with an unshaved face while letting my hair grow out.
But as you can see from the smile on my face, I was so happy that I had finally mastered the art of pizza making that it didn't care about my appearance. So I went ahead and let a family member take a photo of the achievement and my happiness just before we dug in to my culinary masterpiece!
