With my theme of being bold and embracing the inner child, I decided that my exhibit would not be complete without returning to the theme of the prince. My first exhibition in Paris was titled "Le Petit Prince", the little prince (of painting). This present exhibition is clearly biographical, looking back through to my own childhood. While creating these paintings in my studio, I was totally committed to being BOLD and fully embracing the imagination of my own inner child. So as I was thinking about my "Le Petit Prince" exhibition, suddenly an innocent young boy appeared on the canvas before me. I didn't recognize him at first.  But when I finally completed the painting it finally dawned on me that I had just painted my own unique version on the character from the French story of "The Little Prince", the classic story by the renowned French aristocrat, author, and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The wild disheveled hair of the little prince was massed in with a large block of pure yellow to further emphasize the prince's innocence. I painted the skin of his face in one complete take. The green background is more typically associated with the classical green used in traditional Italian paintings. What I like most about "The Little Prince" is that it is a clear reference to the story of "The Little Prince", yet I can clearly see myself, my personality, my temperament, and especially my own unique life story... When being true to myself, even if the style of painting were to be criticized for being "childlike", at least it is clear that it is a ZERMENO!  And that is the best compliment I can possibly hope for.
