Naturally, Paul Gauguin didn't discover primative art.  However, he did create a series of primative paintings from his life experience travelling to Tahiti.  When I first started painting, I also created in a very "primative" style from cafe' culture during my time in Paris.  Here we see "La Repose" an early work that was included in my first art exhibition titled "Les Femmes Parisiennes".  This painting is now in a private collection.
