The Art of Cuisine

My Bread and Butter

Now this is some seriously good and genuine hearty Italian bread!  This Italian bread and butter has also been what has truly nourished and sustained me.  My Italian family has always loved and supported me without ever asking for any credit.  I have already thanked my Mexican mother, so I dedicate this good and hearty Italian bread and butter to the Italian side of my family for giving me such a genuinely meaningful, loving, and supportive family life.  Here's something I've learned from experience:  You can have all the talent in the world, but it means nothing if you don't have a healthy, loving, and genuine supportive family behind you.  So I thank God I have my Italian family for that!  My Italian family is very generous, humble, modest, and has been quietly kept the background of everything I do.  It has also been a solid and constant moral support system and the backbone of my happy family life.  My private family life is more valuable to me than gold!  One lesson that is more clear to me now than ever, especially after finding ways to be happy and thrive together during a pandemic, is that my private family life is my greatest blessing.  So I thank my Italian family for always lifting my spirits and for all the love and support I've received throughout the years...

I would also like take a minute to thank YOU.  Unless you're an author, I know many of you may just breeze through this exhibition without even realizing how many months of sleepless nights and hard work went into finally completing this online exhibition.  After completing a previously large exhibition titled "Barefoot In France", I was so exhausted I actually had to stay in bed for an entire week to recover and regain my strength...  I could have just as easily written a book.  So after I finally recovered I swore I would never do a large exhibition EVER again!  However, "The Art of Cuisine" came with many of its own unforeseeable challenges.  It featured so many meals and each had to be planned, created, and organized.  This unique exhibit around my dinner table also required even much more in terms of charting completely new paths into the culinary arts.  So I had to learn new cooking and culinary skills that I did not have before I set on this journey.  Here's the good news:  In the end, even though it turned out to be the most challenging and largest online exhibition to date for Zermeno Museum, "The Art of Cuisine" has been the most rewarding exhibit for me personally because it was shared with my loving family.  And we not only survived but because of their love and support we even "thrived" during a pandemic, which made it that much more "sweet" and meaningful!

Challenges Make us Grow!

Challenges make us grow!  Take creating Zermeno Museum, for example.  Let me be honest. Renovating and converting an old historic mansion into a peaceful sanctuary for art and inspiration into unique art museum to inspire art lovers like you, especially during a pandemic, has not been easy.  So I like to keep it real.  But this commitment to the arts is my purpose in life.  Although, some days I honestly don't know where my inner strength is going to come from....  Most days I actually feel like Don Quixote chasing imaginary windmills.  But in my heart at least I take pride in knowing that I've genuinely lead by example in knowing what it truly means to stay committed to my purpose in life and pursuing my dreams, even when I am constantly suffering from self doubt.  Many days I feel all this hard work and my commitment to the arts will never be appreciated and matter to anyone like it does to me.  Nonetheless, I can't live anyone else's life for them, so I have to at least commit to fulfilling my own dreams.  So I hope staying committed to my purpose has in some way inspired you to pursue your own dreams.  By the way, at the beginning of this exhibit I promised you a dessert, so before we conclude this show, let me keep my promise!
