German Roast Pork Salad
Initially I was planning to do an entire segment about my time in Germany, but this online exhibition turned out to be much larger and longer than I had initially planned. So this is my nod to German-American cuisine instead. When it comes to German cuisine, however, I know everyone immediately thinks of sausages and sauerkraut. I definitely love authentic German hot dogs and sauerkraut. Germans especially love their braised, grilled, and roasted meats, so this pork salad dish made with a sliced pork roast served on a slice of hearty bread and with lettuce and a brown gravy on top of it all and served outdoors with a German craft beer (from the oldest brewery in the world!) is my nod to that cuisine.
