The Culinary Art of Spain

Spanish Breads
Like Italy and France, Spain has so many different styes of traditional artisan breads and shapes from round to long like Spanish "baguettes". It would be impossible to cover this in this already too long exhibition on the art of cuisine!
Above is a basket full of "Pan de Barra". When I lived in Spain during my early years, I always loved eating bacadillos (cold cut sandwiches) with Pan de Barra. Bacadillos were a staple in my life back then. Pan De Barra is also an essential item for any picnic with family and friends, as is the tradition in Spain. The Spanish people LOVE their artisan bread. Not a day is spent without stopping in a bakery to pick up a few loaves to have with a family meal. However, because we must move on to France and finally conclude this exhibition in America, I will limit this to a couple examples of my favorite Spanish breads.
