Lastly, we could not end without paying homage to nature's most universal category: "Mother Nature". And nothing is more quintessential to nature than presenting her as a mother and giver of life. That's why I've selected this mother holding her new-born infant in her arms.

Lately I've been visiting classical works of art in the museums of Italy in Rome, and the Vatican museums. I've also been paying homage to the renaissance works in the classical museums of Florence, Tuscany, and Venice. Much like the traditional artist palette of classical artists I suppose that's why this work does have the rich and vibrant reds, greens and blues that one often associates with classical works of art from the Italian tradition.

The world has already seen a million beautiful works done in the renaissance style. So I wanted to create something completely different in my own unique style. My style was formed as an American in Paris. Because I'm an Expressionist at heart, I've been criticized for being a terrible painter because I don't paint realistically. Besides, there's already so many great realists. I'm much more interested in conveying what I'm "feeling".

As you can see, this work kept the vibrant colors of the Italian Renaissance while staying true to my own unique style of expressionism in painting my raw emotions. So rather than referring to any traditional schools or techniques, instead I just let my raw emotions do the painting. That's why this work is much more "painterly" conveying my feelings with just paint. I was only interested in painting my feeling of love. In that sense, this is a genuine portrait of "that feeling" of my love.
