NIMES AND THE CLASSICAL
11 Jardins De Fontaine
Here you can see how the work of ancient Roman engineering was further used to receive the waters into the town of Nimes from the aqueducts. Nowhere is this more impressive than at "Jardins De Fontaine". These are some of Europe's oldest gardens. The park is now adorned with classical vases, statues, and beautifully designed trees and walkways. Created in the 18th century, this public treasure includes the Temple of Diana. No trip to Nimes is complete without finding time to take a stroll in this beautiful and historic park in the town.
