The Art of Cuisine

Cinque Terre

Tutti Fritti
(Fried Seafood)

I can't possibly describe my favorite Italian cuisine without including an AMAZING little fried seafood shop called "Tutti Fritti", which means "everything fried" in Italian.   Even though it is not a fine restaurant per se, it's actually my favorite place in the entire world to eat fried seafood!!!

I love that it's just a tiny totally unpretentious little shop that appears in this small fishing village that serves you the most amazing choice of fresh fried scallops, shrimp, clams, and oysters that were literally caught just minutes or hours before.

After they serve your choice to you in a waxed paper cone, they just let you sit outside on a bench while enjoying people-watching, or you can wander down to the waterfront.  I usually like to spend a day or two in this little village just so I can keep going back several times a day! Needless to say that's why I gained so much weight each time I've visited Italy.  It's okay though because I always walk it off.  Nonetheless, when I arrive in Rome, the first thing I do when I get out of the airport is start planning how I'm going to get back to Tutti Fritti!
