Study of A Lemon

I've seen so many lemons in Tuscany that it's no wonder that right now I'm obsessed with painting studies of lemons, such as shown above. In fact, while in Firenze, I was particularly inspired by the "The Lemon House" in Boboli" Gardens.   The lemons I saw in Tuscany have inspired to paint "A Lemon a Day!   This particular lemon is more realistic in the traditional style after visiting Florence.

     Painting lemons in a more realistic style is definitely something "new" for me.  Notice, however, that even though I painted this lemon more realistically, I also made sure to keep the background and the foreground in my own vibrant expressionist style.  But I'm having a great time paintings lemons, regardless of the style of art...
